Epstein Case Takes Bombshell Turn as DOJ Releases Footage – EVOL

Federal authorities released long-anticipated surveillance footage from the night Jeffrey Epstein died in his Manhattan jail cell, intending to quell years of public speculation. 

However, instead of providing clarity, the video has raised new questions after observers identified a missing minute in the recording—casting fresh doubt on the official account of Epstein’s death.

The Department of Justice (DOJ), working alongside the FBI, made the footage public on Monday. 

The video captures the corridor outside Epstein’s cell at the now-closed Metropolitan Correctional Center (MCC) on August 9, 2019, the night Epstein was found dead. 

According to the DOJ, the surveillance shows no one entering or leaving the area from 10:40 p.m. that evening until 6:30 a.m. the following morning.

However, independent analysts quickly noticed a concerning gap: the timestamp jumps abruptly from 11:58:59 p.m. to 11:59:59 p.m., omitting an entire minute of footage. 

The DOJ has yet to explain this missing segment, which critics say undermines confidence in the investigation and suggests potential withholding of key evidence.

Accompanying the video release, the DOJ also published a two-page memo affirming its conclusion that Epstein died by suicide, denying any foul play.
