President Donald Trump’s White House has mocked “Gavin NewScum” over the California Democrat governor’s video address supposedly responding to the Los Angeles riots.
As violent leftists continue to rattle Los Angeles, Gov. Newsom took to the airwaves Tuesday night with a dramatic address accusing Trump of launching a “brazen abuse of power.”
But the White House isn’t having it, and fired back swiftly.
Newsom, a Democrat and longtime Trump critic, claimed in a prerecorded video that “democracy is under assault.”
He warned the American people that Trump’s move to send 4,000 National Guard troops and 700 Marines to quell unrest in L.A. represents a dangerous precedent.
But Trump officials were quick to point out what many Americans already see: Newsom is more focused on performing for the cameras than addressing the real issues in his own state.
In a post on X, White House Communications Director Steven Cheung said:
“Gavin NewScum spent all this time–instead of doing his actual job–preparing for a webinar just for the audio to not work.
“The production quality is just like his leadership quality—sh***y.”
