JUST IN: Trump Responds After Massive Victory In Iowa Caucuses

Former President Donald Trump said he is “honored” and “invigorated” after winning the Republican Iowa caucuses in record time.

Trump will take home the lion’s share of the Hawkeye State’s 40 delegates after the race was called roughly 30 minutes after voting commenced. The former president had long maintained a significant polling advantage over his Republican challengers, which ultimately culminated in a quick victory in the Republican primary’s first official contest.

“I feel great,” Trump told Fox News after the race was called. “I am greatly honored by such an early call.”

“It really is an honor that, minutes after, they’ve announced I’ve won—against very credibly competition—great competition, actually,” Trump said, adding that the result was “a tremendous thing and a tremendous feeling.”

The former president went on to say that re-gaining control of the country is critical. “Our country has gone through so many bad things over the last three years and it is continuing to go through bad things,” he said, listing the ongoing turmoil in the Middle East as one example.
