Rick Harrison of the hit TV show “Pawn Stars” has revealed that his son Adam died of a fentanyl overdose.
In a statement about Adam Harrison’s tragic death at just 39 years old, the devasted dad blamed the “fentanyl crisis in this country.”
He warned that the crisis is worsening because fentanyl is “just flowing over the borders.”
Harrison told Fox News the potent synthetic piperidine opioid is continuing to destroy lives because “nothing is being done about it.”
“Yes, I can confirm Adam died from a fentanyl overdose,” he said in a statement.
“The fentanyl crisis in this country must be taken more seriously.
“It seems it is just flowing over the borders and nothing is being done about it.
“We must do better,” he urged.
According to the Drug Enforcement Administration, the Sinaloa Cartel and Jalisco Cartel are behind the majority of fentanyl flowing into the U.S.
“While the cartels’ operations are based in Mexico, DEA has identified more than 50 additional countries where these criminal networks operate,” a DEA press release states.
The agency said that cartels buy chemicals from companies located in China.
