Slovakian swimmer Tamara Potocka has collapsed suddenly at the 2024 Paris Olympics.
Potocka received emergency medical attention on the side of the pool following the women’s 200-meter individual medley.
The 21-year-old athlete was seen being carried away from the pool on a stretcher.
She was seen with an oxygen mask as she was taken away.
Potocka had finished seventh in the third heat of the event in the morning session at La Defense Arena in Nanterre, Paris.
The venue’s media manager confirmed Potocka was conscious and under medical assessment, Reuters reported.
It is not clear whether she received CPR.
Potocka collapsed as she got out of the water.
She was immediately surrounded by a group of medical attendants.
The incident is the latest tragedy to plague the Olympic Games this year.

The Associated Press reported that Lulu Conner died unexpectedly when she suffered a sudden “medical emergency.”
Conner died on July 23 after traveling to cheer on Steffen ahead of the Paris Olympics, the report reveals.
“She [Conner] was so excited for the Olympic Games,” Steffen
