The fire, fueled by intense Santa Ana winds, has spread rapidly, leaving thousands of residents scrambling for safety.

Several large fires are currently raging across Los Angeles County, including those in Pacific Palisades, Eaton, Bert, Sylmar, Tamarack, and King.

According to The Los Angeles Times, the Pacific Palisades fire alone has grown to over 2,900 acres, with containment efforts severely hampered by the gusty winds.

The Santa Ana winds, infamous for their ability to worsen wildfire conditions, are expected to gust at speeds exceeding 85 miles per hour overnight, according to AccuWeather.

These winds have scattered embers across a wide area, igniting new fires and complicating efforts by firefighters to establish control lines.

Firefighters on the ground and in the air have been working tirelessly to battle the blaze, but the extreme wind conditions have made it nearly impossible to contain the rapidly spreading flames.

California Governor Gavin Newsom has declared a state of emergency as the Palisades fire threatens more than 13,000 structures and approximately 30,000 people.
