New Leak Exposes Biden DOJ’s Targeted Trump Takedown Plan – EVOL

Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Chuck Grassley (R-IA) recently obtained emails exposing a concentrated Department of Justice (DOJ) effort to investigate President Donald Trump’s connection to a group of Jan. 6 defendants involved in a prisoner choir project. 

The correspondence points to what some lawmakers consider a politically motivated campaign during the Biden administration.

In early March 2023, DOJ prosecutor JP Cooney circulated an email directing colleagues to “nail down Trump’s role” in the “J6 Prisoner Choir” project. 

Cooney attached a Forbes article detailing Trump’s participation in recording the Pledge of Allegiance at his Mar-a-Lago estate. 

The report also identified FBI Director Kash Patel and former Fox News host Ed Henry as involved in the recording.

The email, titled “J6 Prisoner Choir/DJT,” noted that profits from the song were funneled through an LLC managed by Henry. 

These proceeds were earmarked to support families of jailed Jan. 6 defendants, excluding relatives of those charged with assaulting law enforcement officers, The Post Millennial reports.

Cooney instructed a colleague, likely prosecutor Ahmed Baset, to preserve relevant evidence and initiate follow-up investigations into Trump’s involvement, per the New York Post. 

Baset was reportedly dismissed from the DOJ earlier this year.
