Mitch McConnell injured after falling down Senate stairs – EVOL

Senator Mitch McConnell suffered another fall on Wednesday, tumbling down marble steps after voting to confirm the Secretary of Housing and Urban Development.

The 82-year-old senator, who has a weakened left leg due to childhood polio, has experienced multiple falls in recent years.

According to Punchbowl News, McConnell fell inside a room, landing on his side while carrying a plate of food. Reports indicate he may have sustained bruises on his face.

McConnell was later seen in a wheelchair after falling multiple times throughout the day.

CNN’s Manu Raju reported that McConnell fell both outside the Senate chamber and inside a GOP luncheon. “A childhood polio survivor, the former GOP leader walks with a limp and has fallen several times in recent years — the most serious of which was when he fell, had a concussion, and…” Raju tweeted.
