House Republicans Pass Impeachment Inquiry Resolution to Investigate Biden Family Corruption

The House voted Wednesday to begin an impeachment inquiry into the actions of President Joe Biden, which Republicans say would help them enforce subpoenas and document demands.

The investigation was authorized by a vote of 221-212.

Back in September, then-Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) declared unilaterally that the House will launch an impeachment investigation on Biden to determine whether he had committed high crimes and misdemeanors.

The investigation has focused on whether Biden improperly used his position of power as vice president to enrich himself and his family, whether he used his influence as president to pressure the Justice Department to avoid prosecuting his son Hunter Biden on certain charges, and how involved Joe Biden was in his family’s foreign business dealings.
