A fire broke out at the Bryant Park holiday market in New York City on Friday morning, sending thick plumes of black smoke into the Manhattan skyline and prompting a swift response from firefighters.
The blaze was reported around 9:20 a.m. at the popular seasonal market, located on West 40th Street between Fifth and Sixth Avenues. The FDNY arrived shortly after, working to contain the flames, which engulfed one of the stalls.
Videos from the scene show a stall consumed by fire as smoke billowed above the park, a beloved destination for holiday shoppers.

As of now, the cause of the fire remains unknown, and there have been no reports of injuries. Firefighters were still working to extinguish the flames roughly 30 minutes after the fire was first reported.
This incident follows another recent fire at a holiday market in Herald Square earlier in December. That fire destroyed 18 vendor shops selling a variety of goods, from bratwurst to holiday ornaments, as reported by The New York Post.
