Pennsylvania Republican state Sen. Doug Mastriano announced that he will not be running for the United States Senate.
In a 37-minute Facebook Live broadcast alongside his wife, captioned “What’s Next: The way forward,” Mastriano talked about the adversity he has faced, and he thanked his supporters for the progress his “movement” has made. Despite this, the former gubernatorial candidate said that he believes he can best serve the people in Harrisburg rather than in Washington.

“At this time, we have decided not to run for the U.S. Senate but to continue to serve in Harrisburg,” Mastriano said. “I know for some it’ll be disappointing.”
“At this time, at this moment, the way things currently are, I am not running for the U.S. Senate seat,” he clarified.
