Democrat President Joe Biden is planning to sign a massive 10-year “security agreement” with Ukraine.
The deal with see American taxpayers locked in to fund Ukraine’s endless war with Russia for at least another ten years.
The decade-long agreement was first discussed by Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelensky in April.
At the time, Zelensky said that the countries were working to ensure “specific levels of support for this year and for the next ten years, including armed support, financial, political, and joint arms production.”
Biden administration officials said the new agreement guarantees that the U.S. would continue supporting Ukraine even if President Donald Trump wins the 2024 election, The Washington Post reported.
Should Trump get sworn in for a second term in the White House, he would likely seek to end funding of the endless foreign war.
However, Trump would also likely move to end the war, rather than allow it to escalate.
On Wednesday, Biden’s National Security Adviser Jake Sullivan told reporters:
“We want to demonstrate that the U.S. supports the people of Ukraine, that we stand with them, and that we’ll continue to help address their security needs not just tomorrow but out into the future.”
