At Least 10 People Dead After School Shooting in Austria – EVOL

Several people have been killed in a school shooting in Austria on Tuesday, officials confirmed.

According to early reports, at least ten people have died.

Austria is left reeling as news of the horrific school shooting on Tuesday morning continues to emerge,

Of those killed, seven students have been confirmed dead so far.

The shooting occurred at a high school in Graz.

Authorities have confirmed that the suspected shooter is a former student.

The shooter also died, police revealed.

The gunman shot himself at the scene, police confirmed.

Local media reported he was 22 years old.

Emergency units, including special forces, rushed to BORG Dreierschützengasse high school around 10 a.m. local time after gunfire rang out.

Police quickly secured the scene and evacuated students to a safe location.

The motive remains unknown.

However, investigators are looking closely at the suspect’s background.

Graz Mayor Elke Kahr called it a “terrible tragedy.”

The European Union, meanwhile, issued official condolences.

Multiple others were hospitalized with injuries.

Police said in a statement:

“A large-scale police operation has been underway in Dreierschützengasse since approximately 10 a.m.

“According to initial findings, shots were heard in a school.
